How to use DARE Research
DARE Research is an app for finding similar DWG files. It creates an internal library of DWGs saved in a project folder, allowing you to search for drawings similar to a selected DWG.
This is useful for finding drawings that use the same parts or blocks, or for finding their original files.
* Note: The initial release of DARE Research only supports DWG files.
Launch the App
Download the DARE Research installer from the DARE Store download page.
Extract the downloaded zip file.
Double-click "install.exe" in the extracted folder.
Follow the dialogs to complete the installation.
After installation, a DARE Research icon will be added to your desktop. Double-click it to launch.
First Time Use
To use DARE Research, you need to create a project. The Project Wizard launches automatically on the first startup. If you closed the wizard or it did not execute properly, run [PWIZ] in the command line.
How to Create a Project
By saving CAD drawings (DWG) in the project folder, DARE Research will be able to perform AI-based similarity searches. The similarity search only references files within the project folder; it cannot reference files outside of it.
Launch the Project Wizard.
Click "New".
Specify a project name and the location where you want to create the project folder. For example, if you specify the Desktop, a folder with the "Project Name" will be created there.
Click "Create".
The project folder is created. Once the project folder is opened in DARE Research, the setup is complete.
Performing a Similar Search
Place your CAD drawings (DWG) into the created project folder.
The drawings in the project folder will appear in the left tree of DARE Research.
Select a drawing in the left tree, and its view will be displayed in the right tree.
Click the "Magnifying glass icon" at the bottom of the file name in the right tree.
The similarity search will be executed, and candidate similar drawings from the project folder will be displayed.
Double-click a drawing to display it in the center viewer.
